Project summary
A fundamental part of this project is to understand and document the contents of the Herrison Hospital archive. Without a proper and consistent catalogue, the archive will remain largely anonymous, out of reach to all but the most determined and patient of researchers. We will create a full, structured, electronic catalogue which will promote quick and efficient access to the archive.
We will repackage the archive to assist with its preservation and a significant quantity of the archive will need remedial conservation.
We will work with doctoral candidate John Clews to undertake academic analysis of the archive while it is being catalogued. He will also host public engagement events and promote the archive.
