Project summary
The MSc in Health History (HHist) provides teaching and training in health humanities with a historical focus to provide students with a broad understanding of both problems and solutions in human health.
The programme acts as a pathway to doctoral research in the field and it equips graduates with a historical sense of human health issues as they enter other careers. We want to grow the student cohort by enabling UK-based applicants to study on the degree at a time of growing demand for teaching in HHist. It will also improve connections with students from outside the UK as health history develops in Asia and Africa.
This award will fund a cohort of up to nine students over the next three years who will test out proposed new features of the degree, and who will be equipped to either progress to cutting-edge doctoral research, or to take the health humanities into sectors and places beyond Britain's higher education institutions.
