Engagement and advocacy

We work with communities, partners and decision makers to bring about real-world change.

Creating a healthier future for everyone requires collaborative action across society. Starting with the most affected communities, we bring together people with different expertise and experience who can ensure that research-based solutions to urgent health challenges meet people’s needs in the real world.

Engaging people

We engage with people across the world to better understand and share different experiences of health, science and social change by:

  • creating opportunities for people to explore what they think and feel about health, science and social change
  • building partnerships in the creative and cultural sectors to share insights into science and health in ways that are meaningful and accessible to all
  • working with people and communities who understand health challenges through lived experience

Advocacy and partnerships

To ensure that health research, policies and solutions benefit the people and communities whose health has most to gain, we work in partnership with others worldwide who have the power to bring about change.

We collaborate with governments, funders, commercial and cultural organisations and communities most affected by health challenges.

Our advocacy work has directly impacted health and research. We've improved how the world prepares for and responds to pandemics and supported UK health research after Brexit by staying in Horizon Europe.
