How to get the final 10 percent of your grant funds
We will only release the final 10% of your grant funds when we receive your Final Expenditure Report.
Grants covered by the 10% retention rule
Exceptions
The rule doesn't apply to grants where:
- award payments are conditional on milestones
- payments require specific Wellcome approval
- a specific agreement has been made.
How to release the final 10%
Your organisation must complete a Final Expenditure Report via Wellcome Trust Grant Tracker (WTGT).
The form will be available on WTGT when your grant reaches its end date.

Joint grants
If you have a joint grant (where the funds for the project are awarded to two or more organisations), each organisation must complete a Final Expenditure Report. We will release the final 10% for each organisation once we have approved the report.
