If applying as a lead applicant, you will have a permanent, open-ended or long-term rolling contract.

Established researcher funding opportunities
If you are an established researcher working in any discipline, you can apply for these funding opportunities providing you meet the individual scheme or call’s eligibility criteria. If you are applying to the Discovery Award, the proposed research must align with our strategy.
An established researcher can hold up to two Wellcome awards as a lead applicant – one as a sole applicant and one as a lead applicant for a team, or both as a lead applicant for a team. Established researchers can also be a coapplicant on up to two other Wellcome awards. Read more about how many grants you can hold at the same time.
