Sinead Lane, Associate Director, Directed Funding and Planning
Sinead manages a central grants logistics function for Research Funding, working collaboratively across Wellcome, to ensure the co-ordinated planning and implementation of funding schemes and calls, managing discretionary funding and supporting the Health Challenge Areas in delivery of their grant funding activities.
The Funding Logistics team co-ordinates a central timetable of deadlines for Wellcome’s open-mode funding schemes and calls, setting a forward-looking schedule of advisory committees, ensuring alignment with operational deadlines, system requirements and communications internally and externally.
Sinead also manages a team of Committee Logistics Officers who handle the fee payments, travel, accommodation, and other logistics for all Wellcome’s advisory committees.
Sinead has a degree in Biomedical Science and PhD in Pharmacology from University College Cork. She joined Wellcome in 2004 as a Science Programme Officer and has had many different roles in the organisation before taking up her current position.
