Data Sciences, Tools and Technology Discovery Advisory Group

This advisory group shortlists candidates for Wellcome Career Development Awards and Wellcome Discovery Awards.

Its remit covers applications that aim to develop tools and technologies (physical or data), that have the potential to be used to improve our understanding of health and disease, rather than on addressing a specific biological question.

Examples include:

  • machine learning and artificial intelligence systems
  • development of statistical, data analysis, and informatics techniques
  • development of novel technologies and tools with the potential to improve our understanding of health and disease
  • substantially enhancing an existing technology or resource to improve our understanding of health and disease.
