Project summary
In this project “I4A – Imaging for All” Global BioImaging aims to support life scientists in LMICs who wish to access imaging infrastructures and related services; participate in training courses open for external participation; or conduct a more extended access and job shadowing program in a GBI certified imaging facility. This independent and LMIC-dedicated global user-access grant support system would provide a means to overcome financial constraints, and grant access to unavailable imaging resources and services. It would drive international collaboration in research and development, knowledge exchange, and capacity building, leading to advancements in imaging sciences and contributing to the overall development of science not only in the participating LMICs but also the GBI partner countries. During the first half of the project, the open calls for users will be intensively advertised e.g. through the existing GBI stakeholder networks to invite as many user applications as possible. The second half of the project will mainly serve for analysis of user feedback, reach of the program as well as project impact for enabling informed assessment of the success of this program by GBI in close collaboration with the funder Wellcome Trust.
