Profits from conference centre to be gift aided back to the Wellcome Trust
The Wellcome Collection Conference Centre on Euston Road in central London has today announced that it will gift aid profits in the region of £750,000 back to the Wellcome Trust, the medical research charity behind the venue housing it.
The cash will support the overall continual running costs of Wellcome Collection, a unique gallery and museum, free to the public, where the Conference Centre is based.
The generous return of profits comes despite the economic downturn, and reinforces the Conference Centre's corporate and social responsibility objectives. The amount being given is a marked increase on last year's gift aid - in the region of half a million.
Clare Matterson, Director of Medicine, Society and History at the Wellcome Trust comments: "This generous gift aid of profits is a tremendous support to Wellcome Collection. The Conference Centre team has achieved great success over the last year despite the turbulent economic climate."
As an integral part of Wellcome Collection, the Conference Centre opened in May 2007. From MPs and singers to jazz bands and sports stars, delegates have enjoyed the state-of-the-art conference facilities alongside the intriguing setting of the galleries. Clients have been as diverse as banks, media organisations, local government and consumer organisations.
The facilities comprise a 150-seat auditorium, four meeting rooms and open breakout spaces.
