Fiona will be taking over from Professor Mike Ferguson, who is stepping down from the Board and Wellcome after 10 years. Over that time, he has made a significant contribution to Wellcome, particularly in helping to develop our ambitious new strategy.

The role of Deputy Chair was appointed by members of our current board. This news follows the appointment of Professor Ijeoma Uchegbu to Wellcome’s Board of Governors earlier this month.

Fiona will take up her post in January 2022.
