Project summary

The hippocampus is an area of the brain that plays a central role in navigation and memory. While we have detailed knowledge of how its cells encode location and memory, we know very little about how these activities represent uncertainty.

Using computational models and model-based analyses of neural data, we will investigate how neural populations represent uncertainty in the hippocampus. This will help us understand how information retrieved by the hippocampus can be used for decisions and can be updated based on new information.
