Project summary

Glasgow’s three universities and its archival and museum collections encompass many established and emerging clusters of expertise and resources in the medical humanities, an innovative field in which the arts, humanities, and social sciences critically address topics of significance to medicine and healthcare.

We will focus on the three themes of objects, place and time to bring Glasgow’s medical humanities community into closer coordination and collaboration.

As well as training early career researchers and helping them develop their ideas, the network will enhance cooperation between the universities and Glasgow’s civic life, including organisations from the third sector. The network will also aim to increase diversity of participation in Glasgow medical humanities, with ‘diversity’ construed broadly to include both protected and non-protected characteristics.
