Project summary

Some researchers have embraced engagement as a tool to shape their research. Still, research institutions have little values-driven motivation to listen to people beyond academia, especially groups with less social power than them. The public engagement sector loses staff at an alarming rate. People in these roles often tire of fighting centuries-old academic traditions.

I want to challenge how research priorities are set and who sets them. I will explore a think-tank style approach and create networks of empowered public engagement professionals who have the skills, support and opportunities to change things.
