Cellular and molecular regulation of early brain development

Brain Waves is an enrichment project developed by the entire team for the Sidmouth Science Festival. The project will deliver a highly interactive public event in three parts: a beach-based exploration of brain function and development for primary school classes; an adult ‘pint of science’ evening of conversation; and a longer-term engagement with local schools through a legacy of project work and materials.

 

The project will help us develop a new understanding of our research. Younger lab members will feel empowered and this will extend into their ongoing research. It will also boost our team’s confidence and foster transferrable skills.

 

Our engagement programme will be a model for an engagement that capitalises on the strong UK network of local science festivals.
