Draft Concordat on Open Research Data opens for consultation

Research Councils UK (RCUK) has published a draft version of a new Concordat on Open Research Data for consultation.

The Concordat aims to help ensure that the research data gathered and generated by members of the UK research community is made openly available for use by others wherever possible, in a manner consistent with relevant legal, ethical and regulatory frameworks and norms. It seeks to establish a set of expectations of good practice, with the intention of establishing open research data as the desired position for publicly-funded research over the long-term.

The draft Concordat was developed by a cross-sector working group, whose membership includes the Wellcome Trust, Universities UK, the Russell Group, JISC, the British Library and Nature Publishing Group.

RCUK is requesting any views and comments on the draft Concordat by 28 September 2015.
