The Wellcome Photography Prize brings together stories of health, science and human experience. This exhibition showcases the most thought-provoking entries, from captivating medical imaging to stories of the alarming health impacts of climate change.
With images submitted from over 100 countries, our judging panel has selected the top 25 entries across three categories: Striking Solo Photography, The Marvels of Scientific and Medical Imaging and a Storytelling Series. Created using a range of techniques from drones to microscopes, you don’t need to have expertise in photography or science to appreciate them. Only a passion for great imagery and a fascination for health and human connection.
The exhibition also features images from ‘Things We Left Unseen’. A series by young, aspiring photographers documenting the personal experiences of health challenges being faced by local communities in South Africa.
The Wellcome Photography Prize exhibition is running for a limited time only. Discover whole other perspectives on health, science, and human experience by planning your visit today.

Over time, it can cause serious heart conditions and digestive issues, especially if left untreated. Chagas disproportionately impacts low-income and rural populations in the Americas, and is considered to be an under-studied disease. Image technique: False-coloured cryo-scanning electron microscopy. Scale: Cell diameter is approximately 2.5 micrometres.
