Who can't apply
If you’re a practising clinician, you can’t apply to this scheme. You may be able to apply for a Starter Grant for Clinical Lecturers instead.
A Springboard Health of the Public 2040 Award from the AMS offers up to £50,000 over two years. You cannot apply for less than £25,000 over two years.
You can use the award to cover:
- research expenses
- training and professional development
- employment of support staff
- consumables and equipment
- access to technical support
- travel costs for training and meetings.
If successful, AMS will also offer you mentoring and career support.
The AMS website has more information about costs.
What we don’t offer
Funding cannot be used to pay for your personal salary costs or to buy out teaching time.
