As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Nyoaka contributes to developing, designing and implementing Wellcome's People Strategy and delivery plan. She also leads on the strategy development and implementation of the organisational culture by ensuring these are aligned to Wellcome's vision and ambition.
She is responsible for collaborating with the Executive Leadership Team and staff to develop the culture, equity, diversity and inclusion strategy for Wellcome in support of our visions and ambition, and consequently having oversight of the implementation and its delivery plan.
Day to day for Nyoaka involves:
- Maintaining and establishing internal and external partnerships to inform and support the work of the Culture, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (CEDI) Team.
- Acting as an ambassador for Wellcome’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategy, internally and externally.
- Working in partnership with other organisations to influence research equity, inclusivity and diversity policies in science and research.
- Shaping and influencing cultural change in the organisation through targeted advice, initiatives and programmes.
