Project summary
Developing clinical guidelines or making decisions about the optimal medical intervention among many alternatives is of paramount importance. Such treatment recommendations are based on evidence from the statistical synthesis of experimental or observational data about all available interventions for the same health condition, termed Network Meta-Analysis (NMA).
The aim of this project is to create a fully integrated workflow for NMA, from conception to completion, in which data analysis and evaluation of the credibility of the results can be conducted. This will be achieved by enhancing and streamlining two complementary apps that we have developed; MetaInsight for implementing NMA statistical models, and CiNeMA which facilitates the process of evaluating the credibility of the results from NMA.
This grant will:
A. Improve functionality, transparency, and scalability of each app
B. Enable a seamless workflow via the integration of apps
C. Improve user’s experience via online documentation and tutorials
D. Develop and implement community engagement ideas including a user’s forum & hackathon.
Both apps will be upgraded so they are fully compatible with one another. A facility will be added so a comprehensive compiled log of all work, and outputs can be generated automatically by the user.
