Julianne Weis is a global health researcher with 20 years of experience. She spent over a decade conducting research in low- and middle-income countries, grounded in equity-focused and participatory methodologies. During this period, she worked within academia, UN agencies as well as local and international NGOs. In 2018, Julianne joined USAID, where she helped lead the global health social and behavioral science research portfolio. She also advanced efforts to address power dynamics in global health research, increasing direct grantmaking and leadership of LMIC research partners and communities within USAID’s programs and broader grantmaking systems. Julianne holds an MSc and a DPhil from the University of Oxford and was awarded a Wellcome Trust doctoral studentship in medical history and humanities.
